Wisdom Paves The Way For Success

If an ax is blunt and the edge isn’t sharpened, then one has to use more strength. But wisdom prepares the way for success. (Ecclesiastes 10:10, God’s Word Translation)

Wisdom is a indispensable ingredient for success in every sphere of work and activity. Failure is an inevitable outcome for the man who lacks wisdom. Without wisdom, a man will put in much strength and effort into his tasks, yet he will not attain to peak performance and excellent results. Wisdom always paves the way for the greatest success.

Understanding is also a concomitant of wisdom; they always work hand in hand. Without understanding and the “know-how” of going about your business, you will wear yourself out with hard work and still end up frustrated because you will not have  achieved the results you desired. It is actually foolish to wear yourself out with hard work without first learning how to achieve your desired results.

“Fools wear themselves out with hard work, because they don’t even know the way to town.” (Ecclesiastes 10:15, God’s Word Translation)

How To Find Wisdom & Understanding For Your Life’s Work

1. Study God’s Word

“…from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise…” (2Timothy 3:15 KJV)

“The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple” (Psalm 119:130 KJV)

It is clear from the verses quoted above that the Word of God has the ability to make a person wise and to give him understanding. Wisdom and understanding come by studying God’s Word. Studying God’s Word helps you to develop critical wisdom and boosts your ability to comprehend things.

2. Increase Learning

“A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels” (Proverbs 1:5)

Wisdom grows in a person’s life when his efforts to learn are more intense by the day. Wise people increase learning. Wise people always learn new things. They read more, listen more, and explore new fields of learning.

3. Be continually interested in the “know-how” and “how-to” of things

“Fools wear themselves out with hard work, because they don’t even know the way to town.” (Ecclesiastes 10:15, God’s Word Translation)

Whenever you are challenged with a task to accomplish, first take some time off to learn how to go about it. There is no point wearing yourself out with hard work when you don’t even know the way to town. Get some quality knowledge that relates to your projects, tasks and assignments.
